Anderson T.O.C. Champion - Emory 8th

Posted by Dana Smith at Mar 11, 2012 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Two more Carnegie wrestlers have joined the exclusive group that can call themselves T.O.C. medalists.  Syrus Anderson came up with a pin against the #1 ranked wrestler in the state in the finals to become the champion at 128 pounds while Ethan Emory spent his day fighting through injuries and the consolation bracket to come up with an 8th place medal at 116 pounds.

Since 1974, 24 wrestlers have brought home medals from T.O.C. with Syrus and Ethan now making that total 26.

Syrus Anderson now becomes only the 6th wrestler from a very proud Carnegie wrestling tradition to bring home a championship from the Northern California Tournament of Champions.

Congratulations Syrus and Ethan.

Congratulations to Matt Dethlefson who brought home the Scots only individual championship from the Northern California Regional Championships.  This is quite an accomplishment for any wrestler, but it is truly a feat for a 6th grader.

Other medalists for the Scots were Andrew Shade (2nd), Dru Smith (4th), Carlos Perez (4th) and Syrus Anderson (3rd).   The team finished in 6th place at this tournament that included the best teams from Sacramento, El Dorado and Placer counties.
